Ginger Ground

Ginger is the dried rhizome of Zingiber officinale. The irregularly shaped, tannish brown rhizome has an aromatic, biting, lemony flavor and aroma.
 
Ginger will actually lose a lot of its flavor due to a chemical reaction with sunlight, so it should be stored in an airtight container in a dark place.
