Fennel Ground

Fennel seed is the dried, ripe fruit of Foeniculum vulgare. The oval shaped greenish yellow brown seeds have a sweet licorice like flavor and aroma.
 
While more commonly people know about fennel's health benefits, fennel's talent in the kitchen does not get the recognition it deserves.
