Cream of Tartar


White crystalline or granular powder; odourless; pleasant acidic taste.


It seems strange, and how does one even use it anyway, right? Its actually more common in baking and sweets than some folks notice. It's added in baking to help activate baking soda to create that fluffy characteristic that we all love. Actually, baking powder is just baking soda and cream of tartar mixed together.
